Plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery

Examinations, consultations and interventions in the field of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery are available within the ambulatory.

The service at the Poliklinika Joković is provided by Dr Mirjana Jakšić, a specialist in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.

Surgical removal of moles and other skin changes, benign tumors of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, such as atheromas and lipomas, is performed, as well as excision of suspicious changes with mandatory pathohistological analysis.

Various procedures from the field of minor surgery are also performed, such as minor reconstructive interventions on the skin, atheroma incisions and removal of papillomas.

Aesthetic and anti-aging care: In the field of aesthetic surgery, procedures such as blepharoplasty of the upper eyelids, lip lift, cleft earlobe correction, surgical removal of xanthelasma and surgical correction of scars are available.

Modern non-surgical anti-aging treatments are also available to patients: the application of hyaluronic fillers, botulinum toxin (BOTOX), biostimulators and other procedures for rejuvenating and refreshing the appearance.

Minor surgery

Small surgical interventions are most often performed under local anesthesia, with a short recovery and a clear control plan after the procedure.

Removal of moles and skin changes

Surgical removal of benign or suspicious skin changes, such as moles, fibromas and keratoses, is performed under local anesthesia. If necessary, the removed tissue is sent for pathohistological analysis.

The procedure takes about 15 to 20 minutes, and recovery is quick, with sutures removed after 7 to 14 days.

Removal of major skin changes

Excision of larger or suspicious skin changes with appropriate surgical reconstruction of the defect is performed under local anesthesia, and the tissue must be sent for pathohistological analysis.

Recovery depends on the size of the change, but is usually quick, with regular check-ups and removal of sutures after 10 to 14 days.

Incision and excision of atheroma

Atheroma, or sebaceous cyst, is removed by a small surgical procedure under local anesthesia.

The procedure takes a short time and involves opening or completely removing the change. Recovery is fast, with minimal discomfort in the following days.

Excision of lipoma and minor subcutaneous changes

Lipomas and other benign subcutaneous changes are removed by surgical extirpation under local anesthesia.

The procedure lasts 20 to 30 minutes, and the recovery is quick, with short-term rest and removal of sutures after 10 to 14 days.

Removal of papillomas

Papillomas and other small skin changes are removed by electrocautery and other minimally invasive methods.

The procedure is short, performed under local anesthesia and does not require special recovery.

Treatment of an ingrown nail

Surgical treatment of an ingrown nail involves the removal of part of the nail plate and the problematic tissue.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Recovery involves regular check-ups, and the sutures are removed after 14 days.

Ablation of the nail plate

Removal of the entire nail plate in case of chronic or complicated nail problems is performed under local anesthesia, and recovery involves regular controls and dressing the wound until it heals.

Aesthetic surgery

Aesthetic procedures are planned individually, in accordance with the anatomy, the patient's expectations and the doctor's medical assessment.

Blepharoplasty of the upper eyelids

Aesthetic surgery to remove excess skin and fatty tissue from the upper eyelids achieves a more open, fresh and rested eye appearance.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and lasts about 45 to 60 minutes. Recovery lasts 7 to 10 days, with temporary swelling and bruising.

Removal of xanthelasma

Xanthelasma are yellowish deposits of fatty tissue that most often appear on the skin of the eyelids.

They are removed surgically under local anesthesia, and the procedure is short, with a quick recovery.

Lip lift

A lip lift is a surgical procedure that shortens the distance between the nose and the upper lip, resulting in a more prominent and naturally shaped upper lip.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and lasts about 30 to 45 minutes. Results are permanent and recovery is quick, with sutures removed after 7 to 10 days.

Removal of biopolymers

Biopolymer removal is a surgical procedure that removes permanent inadequate materials from the lips, which can cause deformities, inflammatory reactions or other complications.

The operation is planned individually, depending on the localization and amount of material, and the goal is to restore the natural appearance and function of the tissue.

Correction of cleft ear lobes

A minor surgical procedure that reconstructs a torn or deformed earlobe, usually caused by wearing heavy earrings or an injury.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, and the recovery is fast, with the stitches being removed after 7 days.

Surgical correction of scars

Correction of unaesthetic or functionally problematic scars is performed using various surgical techniques under local anesthesia.

The goal is to improve the appearance and quality of the skin.

Anti-aging procedures

Modern anti-aging procedures are aimed at refreshing the appearance, improving the quality of the skin and a natural result without a long recovery.

Hyaluronic fillers

A minimally invasive aesthetic procedure that compensates for lost volume, shapes the contours of the face and fills in wrinkles.

The procedure takes 20 to 30 minutes, and the patient immediately returns to daily activities.

botulinum toxin (BOTOX)

A treatment that relaxes the muscles responsible for the formation of mimic wrinkles, most often in the forehead, glabella and around the eyes.

Botulinum toxin therapy is also used in the treatment of hyperhidrosis, i.e. excessive sweating. The procedure lasts 15 to 20 minutes, and the full effect develops in the following days.

LOLA, Profhilo, polynucleotides and Jalupro Young Eye

Modern treatments that stimulate skin regeneration, improve hydration and skin quality.

They are performed by applying injections into the skin, without a long recovery.
